Driving the Ministry of Public Health’s strategy to end AIDS, tuberculosis, and hepatitis B and C by integrating the implementation of the STAR Project, with a focus on providing services to people who inject drugs, and expanding health services to other at-risk populations in the area.
The project implemented training and health education, screening for hepatitis B and C viruses, and screening for individuals at risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among populations born before 1992 and other at-risk populations who voluntarily participated in the project in Huai Chomphu Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. The project received academic and technical support from Asst. Prof. (Special) Dr. Julapong Chantta, Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital, Chiang Rai Provincial Public Health Office, Mueang Chiang Rai District Public Health Office, Chiang Rai Provincial Administrative Organization, Huai Chomphu Subdistrict Administrative Organization, village health volunteers, and the Khon Khon for Change Foundation.
Service delivery was carried out through Mobile Clinic activities, including health education on hepatitis B and C, behavior modification to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), fingertip blood testing for hepatitis B and C using rapid test kits, blood pressure measurement, height and weight measurement, body mass index (BMI) calculation, and assessment of obesity status.
The project was implemented between 16–26 September 2025, comprising a total of six sessions. The project was successfully completed with strong collaboration and support from all relevant stakeholders, ensuring maximum benefit for the population by enabling access to health screening services and seamless linkage to appropriate treatment and care.
